Holy hell this must be the best RTS I have ever played ( as in C&C RTS....not empire building ones).
WW2 European theater ( suprise suprise), stunning graphics ( even on my ol' beast) the level of detail is amazing, fully destructable terrain (hehehahaha), blood,swearing and heaps more.
The AI/Pathfinding is great, your guys can be placed against cover abit like Full Spectrum Warroir or Brothers in Arms.
You guys can put out barbed wire,sand bags, tank traps, dragons teeth, mines. Also your squads can take over machine guns/AT guns from the enemy if you kill the crew.
It has the traditional base building, but base defenses have limited firing arcs, so good placement is a must. It is basically a highly refind Dawn Of War set in WW2 instead of WH40K. Resources are similar to DOW ( capture strategic points for resources) but with 3 types of resource- Manpower, Munitions and Fuel.
Oh btw the sound is FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC. Crank it up, and its awesome. Musics pretty ok too. Basically if you took Call Of Duty, Brother in Arms and WH40K Dawn Of War and mixed 'em up into an RTS soup you'd get this.
Man its fucking ace. I leave you to go back to it, its been 2 days since I got it and I am fully addicted. Worth every penny!
EDIT: I forgot to say the fucking explosions from heavy artillery is mind blowingly great! embers,white dust,black smokle and everything has Havok physics on it (so if a fence gets hit the pieces fly up, spin around etc) Blowing up a building is great to watch (the roof collapses inward, dust and debris fly outwards.
